American Fiber & Finishing, Inc. (AF&F) manufactures Rymplecloth® Purified Wiping Cloth, Aerotex™ Wiping Cloth, Purewipe® Cheesecloth, and Purewipe® 4x4 Gauze Sponges foe the Aerospace and Industrial markets. AF&F's above products are manufactured to meet or exceed the stringent standards of the Boeing Material Specification BMS 15-5F Class A and the Aerospace Material Specification AMS 3819C Class 1 Grade A for aerospace wipers.
One of the requirements of the Aerospace industry is for the cloth used to wipe and prepare surfaces be low lint. Since cotton fiber is used to make our wiping products, lint cannot be eliminated entirely. There will be some lint (low lint), but it is to be minimized and must meet the Aerospace Specifications. The specifications require that there be less than 10 mg/sq ft of lint as the standard. AF&F minimizes the lint in the chemical processing of the fabric. The cotton cloth is processed with a chemical that protects the cotton fibers from being damaged. We do test and certify that our Rymplecloth®, Aerotex™, Purewipe® Cheesecloth and Purewipe® Sponges meet or exceed the industry standards.
